Moving your investments to Cushon puts everything in one place. It lets you switch into one of our diversified portfolios and gives you access to free CushonMe monitoring and alerts to help you track your investments.
Many popular providers support easy transfers (known as TeX). All you need to provide is your account number, and we handle the rest. You can check if your provider allows easy transfers by typing in their name.
Key things to know
- We don't charge for transferring investments. Your current provider may have their own transfer fees.
- Transferring an ISA or Junior ISA keeps its tax benefits. If you use our transfer process, it does not count as cashing in the ISA. All future income and growth stay tax-free.
- Transferring a general investment may mean capital gains tax. A transfer cashes in your investment and reinvests the proceeds, which could create a capital gain.
- Some transfers need your signature. If your provider does not offer electronic transfers, we send you a form filled out. You just sign and post it back. These transfers can take a few weeks once we have the form.
- Direct debits do not transfer automatically. Your current direct debit will be cancelled and the investment transferred. You will need to set up a new direct debit with Cushon.
How to transfer your investments
A transfer can take a few weeks. Here is what to do:
- Visit our transfer page at or you can transfer using the Cushon app.
To transfer an old pension to Cushon:
- Log into your Cushon app
- Select 'Transfers'
- Select 'Pensions' from the toggle
- Tap 'Start a transfer'
- In the "Start a new transfer' screen choose your option and then follow the simple steps
Note: If you have more than one pension pot, add each one separately by completing the details for every transfer.
Don't have the Cushon app?
Download it from the App Store or Google Play Store.
You can transfer your ISAs to us using your Cushon app.
- Open the Cushon app and tap Transfers
- Toggle the slider to Savings
- Tap Start a savings transfer
- Select desired option and follow the simple steps
If you have more than one ISA to move, repeat these steps for each one. You can see the status of each transfer in your app.
If needed, we send you a pre-filled transfer form to sign and post back.
We’ll contact your provider and ask them to sell your old investments. For ISAs or Junior ISAs, this stays inside the ISA wrapper so the tax benefits are not affected. For general investments, this may trigger a capital gain.
The cash from the sale moves to Cushon and is used to buy your chosen investment. This can take a few days. You will not be exposed to market gains or losses while the cash is moving.
Once complete, CushonMe will start monitoring your new investment automatically.
