When you invest in a fund, any dividends or other income from shares are typically paid directly into the fund. This causes the price of the fund's units to go up. Your fund manager then uses these dividends to buy more shares and bonds for you. This is what we call an 'accumulation' fund, or 'acc' for short. In some cases, though not as common for funds in ISAs, the fund manager might distribute the dividend income to the investors. This is known as an 'income' fund, or 'inc'. |
